Solo luxury travel can feel stressful, overwhelming, and scary – but it doesn’t have to.
Devoreaux Walton, the founder and CEO of Abroading, took her first solo luxury trip to Paris, France in 2013. That trip was the beginning of her solo travel confidence journey. From items she forgot to pack to navigating logistics in a country that she didn’t know the language – needless to say, the trip taught her a lot. Fascinated by the richness and beauty of global cultures, she committed to seeing more of the world – and figuring out how to make travel stress-free to feel effortless and easy.
In 2016, she discovered citizenship by investment and her interest in global immigration was born. While working boring, unsatisfying corporate jobs – one after another – she knew there was a better way to build her life and career, that allowed her to achieve true freedom.
In 2024, she decided to share her knowledge, wisdom, and motivation to help others live their best solo global lives. This platform would allow her to share solo luxury travel strategies she learned the hard way, helping others to avoid countless mistakes she made.
In 2025, after experiencing her third and final corporate layoff, Devoreaux decided to pivot her career in a new direction. Instead of looking for another corporate or remote job, she pursued self-employment, and is dedicated to never going back to a corporate job that restricts her location, time, and freedom. Upon achieving success by building her work from anywhere career, she wanted to add this topic to inspire and educate others to do the same.
